Benton County is located in the northwestern corner of the U.S. state of Arkansas. The county seat is Bentonville. The county was formed on September 30, 1836 and was named after Thomas Hart Benton, a U.S. Senator from Missouri. Benton County is part of the Northwest Arkansas region.

Geography

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 884 square miles (2,290 km²), of which 847 square miles (2,190 km²) is land and 37 square miles (96 km²) (4.1%) is water.

Demographics

As of the 2010 census, the population was 221,339, making it the second-most populous county in Arkansas.
